The Products of Child Slavery

Many people in the world today believe that there is no longer an issue of slavery like there was during the time the African slave trade was thriving. Truth be told, slavery these days  is much worse. Slavery now encompasses a broader area and a broader definition. Slavery, as defined by Merriam-Webster Dictionary, is “a person held in servitude as the chattel [tangible property] of another.” This can apply to indentured servitude, slavery without being payed, sexual slavery, child slavery, and others. However, one of the more prominent forces at work in each and every one of our lives is child slavery. Forced to work for as little as a debt of 35 American dollars, many children never see the light of freedom. The economic positives of the products created by child slavery are outweighed by the cost it takes to create them.
