hard work pays off
As I have matured in age, my writing has gotten better. I have never been a strong writer and have learned to accept that. My weakness is doing an analysis on something. For example, the rhetorical anaylsis essay we are dong in class. Looking at something and trying to figure out what it means is something that I struggle with. However, with a every weakness there is a way to overcome it and make it a strong point. In this class this is what i expect to accomplish. I would say that my writing experience has been positive. I have always done well because I have had to work extra hard at.. An "A" was never out of reach but it was close. The low point in my writing came my Junior year in high school. I was fresh out of AP Language of Composition and had fared well. I did not like the teacher and he would always call me out. This carried over into my writing for that class. That class was my last English class before this one. I am having to teach myself to learn to write again and write for a class that I like. The most I have written was a six page physics paper on stealth technology. I thought it was one of my better papers because i spent a lot of time and effort on it. The grade reflected my work as I got an "A" on it. Most papers I try to write in one night. It is hard for me to work on a little at a time. I have to get into a "rythem" and keep writing until it's done. I try not to wait until the last minute so I have time to proofread it. Sometimes I will stay after class with a teacher and have her read my paper to see where I am at. This helps with last minute adjustments and always results in a higher grade. For this paper I having to work extra hard for that higher grade but in the end it will pay off as I earn that higher grade.
