Irish Claddagh

I actually have a tattoo on my own that I got when I turned 18. It is on the back of my neck and it is a black Irish Claddagh, It is a little bit of a tradition in my family to get a tattoo when you turn 18 because my dad is obsessed with them. My dad has over 10 tattoos on his body and I think we can all assume that he is addicted. My father’s side of the family is super Irish causing my dad to love everything about the Irish culture. When I was thinking about my tattoo, I knew I needed it to be something Irish. I decided on an Irish Claddagh. An Irish Claddagh is an Irish symbol with two hands holding a heart with a crown on it. The tattoo symbolizes more than just the Irish culture; the heart symbolizes love, the hands symbolize friendship, and the crown symbolizes loyalty. I believed that all of these ideals were a big part of my life and I knew that this was the tattoo that I wanted. I believe that this tattoo really shows who I am as a person. It is very small and located on the back of my neck which shows that I wanted to keep it hidden and classy. It also symbolizes three things that make me who I am today as a daughter, sister, friend, girlfriend, and citizen.
