Math Nerds Still have to Write

Writing is not my favorite thing to that is for sure.   This weekend I completed my online math homework thru the entire week just so I could avoid writing my rough draft.  I enjoy math, and I can do any type of math all day I am also not a very good writer in any formal format.  Last year I took AP literature.  We read about seven or so works of literature last year.  On each major work we had to write an essay minimum of three pages.  I found myself most of the time struggling to meet the three page minimum.  Another thing I struggle with is I always use certain words or phrases throughout a paper, and I make too many grammatical mistakes.  But when it was a book I enjoyed I had no trouble meeting the minimum.  That is the same thing with most things I have to write.  If I like the topic or assignment I will have more interest and I will dedicate more time.  Our finally project was a research paper.  It was to be on our book of choice.  I did it on 1984, I enjoyed the book and reached the minimum of five pages fairly easily.  When having to write less formal things (such as blogs), I feel more comfortable in writing and I am more willing to do the assignment.  During my writing process I procrastinate when I don’t like the topic of the assignment.  So one can tell how much I like an assignment by how early I complete it.  When I am writing an assignment during my thought process I need complete silence.  However, once I get into the paper I need music to keep me going, for instance I am listening to “Coldplay” as I type this sentence.  When I am really stuck on a topic I do math to help me focus or take a hot shower, I do my best thinking while doing one of these activities.  I have gotten better in my writing but there is much more room for improvement
